Professional Background
Mr. Burnett has represented numerous Fortune 500 companies in complex commercial litigation matters, national class action litigation and investigations and enforcement proceedings by the Florida Attorney General. Mr. Burnett’s clients have included nationally and internationally known magazine and book publishing companies, motion picture companies and broadcasting companies. Mr. Burnett has also represented many local businesses with national and international presences.
Mr. Burnett has defended medical malpractice matters on behalf of a major national hospital and defended personal injury matters on behalf of a national insurance company. Mr. Burnett has also aggressively represented individual plaintiffs who have been injured as the result of medical malpractice or other person’s negligence. Mr. Burnett has significant experience in medical malpractice litigation, premises liability (slip and fall), automobile accident litigation, motorcycle accident litigation, trucking accident litigation, products liability and intentional tort litigation. Mr. Burnett has been involved in obtaining recoveries for individual clients in the hundreds of thousands of dollars and multi-millions of dollars. Mr. Burnett been awarded the "AV" rating by the Martindale-Hubbell Law Directory, which is the highest possible rating for legal ability and ethical standards.
Mr. Burnett is admitted to practice before all state courts in Florida, the United States District Courts for the Middle, Southern and Northern Districts of Florida and the United States Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit.
